Laguna de Barlovento is a large freshwater reservoir in the northeastern part of the island of La Palma. Its a great spot to observe rare waterbird migrants (if present of course), common waterbird species and songbirds in the surrounding thickets. The reservoir itself is used by large flocks of gulls, being mainly Yellow-legged Gull and small.

Beautiful hiking route leaving the Mirador de Llano Clara and following the PR LP 7: 1 trail. The route passes through the Mirador de las Barandas until reaching the Laguna Reservoir. This route combines views, forest areas, a lot of vegetation and a lake at the end of the road. Highly recommended!
